Happy February and Happy Valentine's
Day to everyone! As far as we are concerned, It's all about loving yourself. first and foremost!!
Then, if you happen to have had or had a sweetie, that makes it all the better!
Again...Lots of work this month. We recall the days when we were booked solid
and it was mostly clubs. Now we are still booked but no more clubs. Sorry, folks! We miss each and every
one of you, but the times they are 'achangin'!
We grew tired of the 9:00 to 1am's and we didn't have a social life or enough time for family for 22 years
of the last 26 years we have been singing together. However, don't get us wrong because you all became our extended
family and that will always mean so much to us. Things are different now. The current clubs want a younger audience
and that doesn't include us or much of our music. Believe me...if there is a club out there that catered to people
our age and older and people that liked music from the 40's through the 70's that went from 7:00 - 10:00pm, we'd
be there.
There aren't too many like
that and if they exist they are not close by. Plus, the jobs we play now are sometimes only an hour and the pay is the
same as we used to get for three to four hours. Granted It is not all about the money but it is important as we no longer
have full-time jobs. So...that is the basic story. We have had some wonderful times with you all and will
continue to do what we love to do best....and as always, if we have a gig that is open to the public, whether it be our duo,
"After All" or the seven piece band "Small Town Gamblers" with Nick playing keyboard and Nancy doing sound,
we will let you know and you will see that info either on this schedule or on our Facebook page! Afterall/Nick & Nancy

"AFTER ALL"
Thank goodness the jobs keep coming in(although we, over the last 26 years together,
have not always looked at them as jobs as we have enjoyed ourselves wayyy toooo much!!) We had a busier month then we
thought we were going to, along with a couple new venue which is almost always a good thing!
We had one anniversary party and two birthday parties plus many private functions and
entertainment for the elderly/people our age!!!
The anniversary party was lovely as we so enjoy meeting the families of the people we do parties for! The age
group is always varied, so we really like to do the songs we love, plus we DJ the current songs for the youngsters and people
in their 30's through whatever. We also do line dances and whatever else the people who hire us want to hear as
along with the contract we send a list of our songs to check off and a sheet asking what songs they would like to hear.
We also had many, many senior establishments
and enjoyed every moment. Sometimes it is heart wrenching to see individuals who are very ill, but it is
heartwarming to know that when we sing a song they recognize, they sing along or mouth the words even if they can no longer
speak. It's a wonderful thing! Nancy makes sure she goes out and shakes every single hand in the crowd and acknowledge
their presence. Now that we think of it, she has always done that! And..she still dances around the room!
Nick has been doing some original songs and he is number one at writing as he has always been, along with his major keyboard
expertise, that seems to get better and better! Nancy has taken up a couple of instruments as she decided she no longer
wants to just stand there when it is Nicks turn to sing, so she plays a percussion machine and harmonica. Such fun!
Thanks to the people who hired us for the Birthday
parties as they are always amazing also! We have met so many people in our career that we have discover more and more
what a small world it has become. Everything and everyone is entangled! There is usually a person knows us from a club
or venue, at every job we do and everywhere we go. We were at an assisted living the other day and there was a couple
dancing and it turned out they used to come to The Hawthorne for many years when we were their! The man's wife said
about her husband.."He has no business dancing at the age of 94" So funny!

is doing live sound for them so she and Nick will both be there!!** Come see us!
We are creating original
songs in an effort to secure soundtracks for movies, TV and individual artists, plus we write special songs for events and
parties if requested.
