June, June, JUNE!! Apologies for not sending out the April
or beginning of May Schedules (the end of the month of May is included in this schedule)...SO much going on! We
said we wouldn't send the schedule late again, but gave no guarantee it wouldn't go out at all :)
We
seem to always begin with a current weather report and this schedule will be no different! What wacky,
wonderful weather! Nan (as many, many of you may remember) loves cool weather and rain so she is getting
her wish this year! We are thinking that at least 95% of you feel differently. You are
all waiting for the balmy warm weather. Nancy should move to Alaska!!

AFTERALL-APRIL/first
part of May 2017 OVERVIEW
Many jobs and many parties for us, including a couple of things for
"Small town Gamblers", one of them being a benefit concert for Shane Michael Taylor. He is an
exceptional C&W songwriter who lives in Nashville. What makes him even more exceptional is the fact
he has MS. You can hear his music on YouTube if you so choose. He is an example
to us all!
We did a 95th Bday Party Event for Anna at The Hawthorne and it was so heartwarming!
She and her friends(some with walkers!)got up and danced! One lady was up, by herself for almost
every song!! It was amazing to watch her!! She had NO walker!! Anna
had many friends at CT Baptist, where she is a resident, come to join her for the festivities and there were many family members
who came from out of state....mostly New Jersey and Pennsylvania. There were many grandchildren and great
grandchildren in attendance and Nancy loves kids so she was in her glory! It's the kind of thing that
makes you very sentimental, for sure! We played mostly 40's and 50's...a lot of fun!!
We
would like to mention that a former classmate of ours, John Petrucelli, has passed away after a courageous 5 year battle.
We attended his memorial service at The Four Points Sheraton in Meriden, where the room was filled with family, friends(many
former classmates, including us and many of whom are musicians!). Our classmate, Gary Burr(who is a prolific
songwriter in Nashville and has worked with Carol King, Kenny Loggins and Ringo Starr...and happens to know Shane Michael
Taylor...small world in Nashville! Plus... Gary is married to the extremely talented Georgia who is also
a writer/singer and genuine sweetheart!))was one of the people, besides Johns extended family who got this event together
on relatively short notice. Gary, along with many of the other musicians in attendance got up and entertained
with many of Johns favorite songs. His sisters, nieces and closest friends got up to share some wonderful
memories and home movies, both of which showed what a wonderfully amazing guy he was. He
will be sorely missed.
It was certainly a night to remember. RIP John
Petrucelli. He was a brilliant man who was humble in every respect. He was also a practical
joker but only in a good way...well..most of the time anyway, except for the rockets!!
In April and
May, Birthday, Anniversary and retirement parties abounded! so much dancing, excitement and great people!
We love making people happy...which in turn, makes us happy!
We had twelve assisted living
Community jobs in April alone, which made for a very busy month! You wouldn't
believe how much dancing goes on!! You certainly cannot judge who will get up to dance, or who will
get into a conga line! Or...who will sing along and just smile! All of the above are good!
And if someone falls asleep..they need a nap :)
